Congressional Report Card
The TC-USA PAC Congressional Report Card evaluates members of the U.S. Congress based on their actions, votes, and statements related to issues that matter to Turkish Americans and U.S.-Türkiye relations. This tool provides an objective assessment of lawmakers’ commitment to:
- Supporting a strong U.S.-Türkiye alliance, including economic partnerships and NATO cooperation.
- Promoting fair and accurate representation of Turkish history and culture in education and media.
- Addressing legislation that impacts Turkish American communities, such as immigration, trade, and foreign policy.
- Opposing measures that unjustly harm Türkiye’s image or the U.S.-Türkiye relationship.
Each year, we analyze congressional records, co-sponsorships, and public positions to assign grades to lawmakers. Our goal is to celebrate those who stand with our community while encouraging others to align with the values of mutual respect and collaboration that define the U.S.-Türkiye partnership.
Why It Matters
Turkish Americans are a dynamic and growing part of the American fabric, contributing to science, business, arts, and civic life. From Nobel Prize-winning chemist Dr. Aziz Sancar to innovative entrepreneurs and community leaders, our achievements enrich both the U.S. and Türkiye. However, our voices must be represented in the halls of Congress to ensure that policies reflect our needs and aspirations.
The U.S.-Türkiye relationship is equally vital. As NATO allies since 1952, the two nations share a history of cooperation in security, trade, and innovation. Yet, challenges like misinformation, legislative biases, and geopolitical tensions require vigilant advocacy. The Congressional Report Card helps us hold lawmakers accountable and build a future where Turkish Americans thrive and U.S.-Türkiye ties flourish.

How We Grade
Our grading process is rigorous and transparent, based on:
- Legislative Voting Records: Support for or opposition to bills affecting Turkish Americans and U.S.-Türkiye relations.
- Caucus Membership: Participation in the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Türkiye Relations & Turkish Americans, a bipartisan group with over 80 members in the 118th Congress (2023-2024).
- Public Statements: Advocacy for Turkish American issues, from disaster relief resolutions to trade initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Efforts to connect with Turkish American constituents and address their concerns.
Grades range from A (exceptional support) to F (consistent opposition), providing a clear snapshot of each lawmaker’s stance.
