A Brief Exchange with House Majority Whip Tom Emmer in Park City
PARK CITY, Utah — Hulya Erol-Garvett, representing TC-USA PAC and members of the Turkish-American community, met briefly with House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Republican of Minnesota, during a National Republican Congressional Committee event in Park City.
The exchange offered an opportunity for Turkish-American community representation at a gathering of national political leaders. Erol-Garvett introduced TC-USA PAC’s engagement with issues affecting Turkish Americans and underscored the importance of maintaining open communication with elected officials.
According to Erol-Garvett, Rep. Emmer spoke about the fast-moving developments involving Iran and the wider Middle East, as well as Türkiye’s importance in a region shaped by overlapping security, diplomatic and humanitarian challenges. While the conversation was brief, it reflected the value of direct engagement between congressional offices and Turkish-American advocates.
Rep. Emmer has represented Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District since 2015 and serves as House Majority Whip, a senior leadership role within the House Republican conference. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee and is vice chairman of its Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
