TURKISH INDUSTRIAL POWERHOUSE ŞİŞECAM DEEPENS ITS ROOTS IN AMERICA

New U.S. company signals a major push to expand Turkish glass sales, reach American customers and strengthen commercial ties between Türkiye and the United States

A Turkish industrial success story is building an even stronger presence in the United States

Şişecam Expands U.S. Market Operations

Şişecam, one of Türkiye’s most established and internationally respected manufacturers, has officially created a new wholly owned American company: Sisecam USA Trading Corporation.

According to Şişecam’s regulatory disclosure through Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform, known as KAP, the company’s formation was completed on August 13, 2026. The new subsidiary was established with initial capital of $100,000 and will operate in sales and marketing in the United States.

But the real importance of this announcement is much greater than the company’s initial registered capital.

This is a strategic commercial expansion designed to bring Şişecam closer to American customers, strengthen its sales network and create new opportunities for growth in one of the world’s largest and most competitive markets.

A Direct Bridge Between Turkish Industry and American Customers

Sisecam USA Trading Corporation will focus on increasing Şişecam’s glass sales in the United States, particularly within its flat-glass business.

The new operation is expected to help the company develop relationships with new customers, provide stronger local service and respond more effectively to the needs of the American market.

Rather than conducting its American glass business entirely from abroad, Şişecam will now have a dedicated U.S. company concentrating on customer development, marketing and sustainable sales growth.

That is an important vote of confidence in the American market—and another example of how Turkish companies are expanding beyond exports to establish permanent commercial roots in the United States.

A Turkish Company With a Global Industrial Footprint

Founded in 1935 by Türkiye İş Bankası under the direction of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Şişecam began with a national mission: to establish Türkiye’s domestic glass industry.

More than nine decades later, that vision has developed into a global industrial enterprise.

Today, Şişecam operates across all of the principal areas of glass production, including flat glass, glassware, glass packaging, automotive glass and glass fiber. It is also a major global producer of soda ash and chromium chemicals.

The company reports approximately 23,000 employees, 43 production facilities in 13 countries and sales reaching more than 150 countries. Şişecam also ranks among the world’s leading producers in several of its core industries.

The establishment of Sisecam USA Trading Corporation is therefore not the arrival of an unfamiliar company testing the American market. It is the latest stage in the expansion of a mature Turkish industrial leader with an established global record.

Şişecam Is Already Producing in America

Şişecam’s American connection extends well beyond imports and sales.

The company already maintains a major industrial presence in Wyoming, where natural soda ash is produced from the extensive trona deposits of the Green River Basin. Soda ash is an essential raw material used in glass manufacturing and numerous other industrial and consumer products.

Şişecam first entered a U.S. natural soda ash production partnership in 2019. It subsequently increased its ownership and, in December 2024, completed the acquisition of its former partner’s remaining interests in the Wyoming soda ash operation.

The company’s American platform therefore combines industrial production in Wyoming with a new sales and marketing subsidiary established to expand its U.S. glass business.

This represents a deeper form of economic cooperation: Turkish capital, industrial expertise and global business experience operating directly inside the American economy.
